Trends are worth paying attention to.
Here’s one which should have you licking your lips in anticipation: the Coaching profession has seen exponential growth since the turn of the century.
Even better, it’s an upward trend which looks set to continue.
To give some context, the estimated total revenue generated from Coaching back in 2019 was $2.849 billion US dollars, a 21% increase over the 2015 estimate.
These are estimates extracted from the ICF’s Global Coaching Study.
However, you don’t need to be Einstein to deduce – by the sheer numbers of Coaches in the marketplace – that these estimations are rooted on sound research and reasoning.
Those “sheer numbers” represent another trend worth paying attention to… because estimates in the same research paper concluded there has been a 33% increase in Coaching practitioners during the same period.
No doubt you’ve noticed the percentage of new entrants is higher than the growth of the profession.
And I’m sure the consequences aren’t lost on you.
But that’s not the end of it.
Because when you consider the 33% of new entrants only represents Coaches who’ve been professionally trained, assessed and qualified through an industry-recognised accreditation process…
… and doesn’t include the droves of untrained, unqualified, unfit-for-purpose so-called “coaches” in the marketplace who peddle whatever product or service they’re selling as “coaching” and violate the profession and public alike…
… the 33% is unquestionably a much, much higher figure.
All of which could be construed as somewhat deflating – whether you’re currently running a Coaching business or not.
I encourage you, with every cell of my being, to look at this differently.
Yes, this profession has got busy – far too busy.
It’s over-populated, saturated and the market is horrendously swollen with little to no distinction between the endless array of “coaches” in it.
And as you’ll have seen if you’ve wisely watched Elite Influencer, Elite Impact™, those who come into this industry and go about running their Coaching business like every other Coach runs theirs inevitably end up in two distinct “pots”.
Pot #1: One of the 82% who go out of business and are back in jobs within the first two years
