In a shameless “steal” from the late ‘n’ great Stephen Covey, keeping the “main thing the main thing” has always been a major differentiator between the “haves” and the “have nots”.
Today? It’s more of a killer strategy than ever.
Why?

You may already be familiar with the principle – after all, it’s well referencedâĤ
âĤ however, as crucial as it is to know about something (you’ll never put to work anything you’re not aware of, after all) unless you’re living it by doing it, it’s all moot.
The performance gap in life is between what we know and what we doâĤ and there’s no greater example than the “Pareto Principle”, aka the “80/20” rule.
The 80/20 rule has been the stalwart game-changer for entrepreneurial success for generations.
The premise of the principle is simple: a small number of causes have a vastly disproportionate influence on effects.
In other words, certain activities are far more valuable, and offer a far greater return on investment, than others.
Thing is, the ratio is irrelevant – they might be 86/14, 92/8, 72/28 – and the numbers don’t have to add up to 100 either – because the point is the principle, not the accuracy of the equation.
Which brings me to this telling piece of wisdom.
The war for your attention today is fierce.
